The global crypto market capitalization fell to $2.69 trillion, down 3.91% over the past day, as $69.9 billion in trading volume churned through the sector. Bitcoin, which still commands 59.5% of total market value, traded at $79,876, off 1.28%. Ether's dominance held at 10.4%. The declines were broad-based rather than concentrated in any single corner of the market, with large-caps and altcoins alike posting losses.
NEAR Protocol was among the hardest hit of the actively traded names, dropping 5.87% to $4.46, landing it on both the trending list and the day's losers. Ethena's ENA token fell 5.62% to $0.197, while MemeCore slid 4.98% to $1.026. Rain, ranked 22nd by market cap, posted the steepest decline among tracked losers, down 6.72% to $0.0067. BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund token, BUIDL, was flat at $1, as expected for an asset designed to hold a stable peg.
Not everything moved lower. Litecoin bucked the trend to lead gainers among larger-cap coins, rising 1.28% to $58.16. BNB edged up 0.12% to $745.92, and LEO Token gained 0.73% to $9.44. But the day's most dramatic mover was a far smaller name: Quack AI, ranked 134th by market cap, surged 21.4% to $0.0663 on trending search interest, making it the standout performer across all tracked tokens by a wide margin.
Elsewhere in trending activity, Kinetiq rose 5.97% to $0.449 and Pearl gained 3.97% to $1.76, two of the only trending tokens to post gains. Venice Token tumbled 9.94% to $23.05 and Lighter dropped 8.11% to $2.79, marking the sharpest losses among coins drawing elevated search interest. Solana fell 2.12% to $99.49, and Pudgy Penguins' PENGU token slipped 2.23% to $0.0076, both tracking the market's broader downward pull. Pepe was a rare pocket of stability among meme coins, ticking up 0.65% to $0.0000050, essentially unchanged on the day.
With 22,565 active cryptocurrencies tracked and the market cap decline touching nearly every major asset, the session's losses point to a risk-off mood spanning both blue-chip tokens and smaller, trending names — with Quack AI's outsized rally standing as the lone bright spot in an otherwise red market.
